I got some additional information from the folks running the balloon festival in Chester County that I have posted below. It doesn’t strike me that they have enough balloons to make for a decent field trip though others may disagree.
Debbie Derrick has suggested that we go to Philips Mill as a group as it doesn’t appear that they are going to do a “club” night this year. Perhaps instead of driving to Chester County this is would be a better group activity. How does meeting at Philips Mill at 7:00 PM on Friday, June 18th sound?
From the balloon festival organizer in response to my e-mail query about the event…….
“You can find all the information regarding the festival including the schedule at www.ccballoonfest.com .
There will be a launch Friday eve around 6:00 pm but I cannot tell you how many. Only the balloons with booked flights will fly.
Around 8:00 they will begin setting up for the Glow. That will be minum 8 balloons.
On Saturday the ascension is scheduled for approx 6:00 with 18+ balloons then some special shapes will be set up for display afterwards.”
